Tillamook Section 8 and Low Income Apartments

If you're looking for an apartment or low income housing solution in Tillamook County, you're actually off to a good start. Whereas the waiting lists for subsidized apartments in most areas are horrendous, the waiting lists in Tillamook really aren't that bad, unless you are looking for a 1 bedroom.

Income Based Apartments

Every apartment at Pine Avenue is subsidized. Residents pay about 30% of their adjusted income. There are some obstacles, for instance, though a renters rent may be as little as $20, even lower in some cases, the renter will still need to come up with one full months rent, at the market rate, for the move in deposit.

That means that a low income renter will need to come up with hundreds of dollars to move in. There's also an application process that involves an application fee.

Don't be distraught if you've got some history though, many bad credit pieces, and even evictions can be overcome during the appeal process by writing a letter and providing documentation of things such as disabilities and domestic violence that may have impacted your past.

Meadow Glen has vouchers like Pine Avenue, that make it so that tenants only have to pay 30% of their rent, but... there's a catch. Tenants have to wait until a voucher comes available.

Tenants pretty much need to do that while renting an apartment at market rate. This is because the waiting list for the property-based section 8 apartments at Meadow Glen and other properties like Meadow Glen pulls from current residents on the waiting list before residents that don't live on the property.

The rents are slightly lower than those in the area, so that's a benefit, however, this can still be quite the obstacle for some.

Champion Park Apartments
4317 Brookfield Avenue, Tillamook, OR 97141
Website

At Champion Park, residents are allowed a bit of freedom when it comes to income restrictions, and they're given more amenities for their dollar, but, there is no subsidy available here. Champion Park residents must either pay the full rent amount, or have a section 8 voucher from NOHA.
